Why DNS data is not an instruction to an agent

Hostnames, documents and logs can contain text controlled by an external party. Adding them to a model’s context should not increase that party’s privileges. Separate tool data from system rules and enforce command and secret access in application code. A matching DNS record does not make text safe to execute or render without escaping.

What to check

  • Identify whether this is a confirmed vulnerability, research result or community report.
  • Check the affected versions and the vendor’s recommendations.
  • Test a patch or permission change in your own environment before deployment.

Scope of this brief

This brief refers to the identified source material; it does not independently verify every reported circumstance. In community reports, distinguish the author’s claims from vendor findings. Timeline dates are not changed simply because the scanner runs again.
